What is OffRecord?
OffRecord is a voice-only social app. You record a voice note of up to 60 seconds and post it to a feed - with your name on it, or completely anonymously. There is no camera, no selfie and no profile photo. You can also be matched with a real person for a one-on-one voice call.
Is it really anonymous?
Yes. When you post anonymously, your name and profile aren't shown on that voice. You can reveal yourself on any post if you want to.
Do I have to show my face?
Never. There's no camera in OffRecord. Just your voice.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plan gives you 10 uploads a day, up to 60 seconds each.
How long can a voice note be?
Up to 60 seconds. Long enough to say it, short enough to keep it real.
How do I post a voice note?
Tap record, say what is on your mind for up to 60 seconds, then choose whether it goes out with your name or anonymously. It lands in the feed right away, and people can answer with a voice reply, an echo or a comment.
What can I talk about?
Anything: college, love, money, work, food, advice, hot takes, reviews. Just keep it kind.
Can I talk to a random stranger?
Yes. One-on-one voice calls match you with another real person instantly. Neither of you shows a name — hang up any time, or block and report if something feels off.
Is OffRecord safe?
Yes. Your name never shows on anonymous voices, you can block or report anyone in one tap, and the Safety Center at offrecord.social/safety covers blocks, reports and moderation. You can also export your data or delete your account at any time.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings and tap Delete account, or use the form at offrecord.social/delete. Your profile, your voices, your messages and your uploads are deleted for good - it cannot be undone.
Where can I use it?
On Android through Google Play, and on the web at offrecord.social/app.
Is there an OffRecord app for iPhone?
Not yet. The Android app is on Google Play and the web app works in any browser at offrecord.social/app.
